CLINICAL EVALUATION

Prior to receiving individual therapy, a clinical evaluation and assessment will be conducted. This provides an in-depth analysis of the individual. The assessment includes: the onset of the presenting problem, developmental factors, family history, risk and protective factors, motivation for change, etc. The clinical evaluation is vital, is it ensures the individual receives the appropriate level of care and it also serves as a guideline for the treatment process.

The goals of individual therapy vary from person to person, as each individual presents with a unique life situation. Goals may include: recognizing triggers, developing relapse-prevention techniques, and learning specific coping skills to foster newfound growth and opportunities.
